As it is clear as a plain day, teaching is challenging and time-consuming. Attitude is one of the most critical factors that directly impact the whole teaching and learning process. Your attitude as a teacher is related to your personality as a teacher and your beliefs as well. It is a way to establish communication channels with students, their parents, peers, and outsiders as well.
There are some attitudes that make a teacher effective such as (a) genuine caring and kindness of the teacher, (b) a willingness to share the responsibility involved in a classroom, (c) a sincere sensitivity to the students’ diversity, (d) a motivation to provide meaningful learning experiences for all students, and (e) an enthusiasm for stimulating the students’ creativity (Gourneau, 2005).
Initially, the genuine caring and kindness of the teachers for their learners play a crucial role in establishing powerful relationships between teachers and students. A safe learning environment can be developed by being a passionate teacher and showing empathy for students.
Secondly, as a teacher, I give rights and consent to the students to participate in making decisions and share responsibility. I believe that it leads to integrating the fleeing of accountability in the students’ souls and motivate them to consider themselves as their learning leader.
Thirdly, being flexible with the students’ diversity and different backgrounds will make your classroom welcoming and open to everyone. Learners feel that they are heard and acceptance and belonging senses will get developed.
Fourthly, providing meaningful learning experiences for all students motivates and inspires them to learn. Teachers that are enthusiastic about teaching and work hard to provide meaningful and relevant learning experiences help students appreciate the significance of what they are learning.
Lastly, the enthusiasm that drives student creativity promotes innovation and critical thinking. Teachers who promote creativity and open-mindedness can assist pupils in developing problem-solving abilities and becoming lifelong learners.
In Conclusion, the attitude of the teacher is critical in creating a positive enjoyable educational environment. These attitudes support teachers in bonding with their students, establishing feelings of leadership and accountability, improving inclusivity, engaging and inspiring learners, and encouraging critical thinking.
